Varicose veins are long tortous,
elongated veins. They cause pooling of blood in the legs.
This leads to skin discolouration & itching. Eventually
causing ulcer or bleeding.
LSV Surgery, SSV Surgery,
perforator surgery is performed during Ambulatory Phlebectomy.
This surgery is performed as a day care operation where the
patient can go home the same evening and has no stitches in
his legs.
DVT usually involves the formation of a
large clot in the deep veins in the lower legs and thighs.
It can also occur in the area around the armpit and collar
bone (axillary-subclavian vein thrombosis), in the upper arm,
abdomen, or pelvic region.
Leg ulcers are due to vascular
insufficiency. It is important to find the cause of ulcer.
If arterial insufficiency, then improve blood flow in the
artery. If the cause is venous do corrective venous surgery.
Different forms of dressings do play an important role in
aiding ulcer healing.
